This week marks the beginning of the 27th annual Party in the Park concert series at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. Over the next six weeks, music lovers and families can enjoy music from the blues, rock and reggae genres.

To kick off the series, The Record Company and North Mississippi Allstars will perform at the park on Thursday, July 11. General admission tickets are available for $11 and VIP tickets are available for $40. For more information, visit

Doors open at 6 p.m. The North Mississippi Allstars’ performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. and The Record Company’s for 8:30 p.m.

How to get there:

The park is located at 353 Court Street and has two entrances that visitors can enter through. The west gate is located at the corner of Court and Chesnut Streets. The east gate is located at the corner of Court Street and the traffic circle that leads to East Broad Street.

Tickets are now on sale for $7 And free for children under 12 years. Tickets for the VIP Ultra Lounge are $35The VIP Ultra Lounge offers exclusive access to premium seating with private restrooms, a bar, table service, front stage access and complimentary chair massages.

Guests can also enjoy the Craft Beer Garden and Wine Time Bar, which features a rotating selection of New York State’s finest IPAs, ciders, stouts and more. Happy hour specials are available at each show from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

What’s new at Party in the Park this year?

Prior to the weekly concerts, the East & Alex Business Association will be offering food and drink specials from 4 to 6 p.m. at several restaurants and pubs along East Avenue between Alexander and Union Streets. Select businesses will also host buskers outside their establishments.
