There’s good news for those who live near the Connecticut border: DeCicco & Sons, in New York since 1973 (with locations in Ardsley, Armonk, Bedford, Brewster, Eastchester, Harrison, Larchmont, Millwood, Pelham and Somers), is opening in Greenwich next summer.

This new location, which will occupy 20,000 square feet at 11 Glen Ridge Road, will be the company’s 12th store overall. (Their Sleepy Hollow location in Edge-on-Hudson is scheduled to open in winter 2025.)

Like the other locations, the store will offer a wide selection of beers, Italian baked goods, fresh produce and prepared meals, as well as delicatessen items. It will also offer meat from partner farms that adhere to the company’s core values of humane animal husbandry without the use of antibiotics or added hormones.

It will also be built with environmentally friendly practices in mind, using pozzotive, a building material that incorporates recycled glass into concrete, as well as reclaimed bricks and wood to minimise the store’s carbon footprint. The commitment to sustainability will also extend to store operations, with energy efficient systems being used and heat generated by refrigeration equipment being reused to provide hot water and heat the store. In addition, the store will use ozone-neutral coolants and high-efficiency appliances.

Residents of Greenwich, Connecticut can also count on a school discount program that benefits local schools.

“Our Greenwich location is a milestone for us,” said Chief Marketing Officer and co-owner Chris DeCicco. “We’re not just opening a store; we’re bringing our 50-year tradition of offering the finest selection of grocery, prepared foods and specialty items to a new location.”

“We are also creating opportunities for growth within a new community. Each DeCicco & Sons store evolves with the neighborhood it serves. We will create a space that not only meets the needs of local shoppers, but truly feels like an extension of their home.”
